What is the slope of any line parallel to the line 8x+9y=3 in the standard (x, y) coordinate plane?

    It's slope would be

    m = (y-9) / (x-8)

    As the lines are parallel all of them have the same slope, solve for y, y=3/9-8x/9, so the slope is the coefficient which accompaning the variable x, slope = - 8/9
