Mark is making a quilt with his grandmother each row of the quilt has 6 squares. there are 8 rows. 1/2 of the squares are blue. how many blue squares are in the quilt?

    6 squares * 8 rows = 48

    1/2 of the squares are blue so 48 divided by 2 = 24

    you can also do it this way 6 squares in a row 1/2 are blue so 3 are blue

    3 blue squares * 8 rows = 24 blue squares
