Solve for x. 7 (3 - x) = 8 (4 - 2x)

    Distribute

    a (b+c) = ab+ac

    7 (3-x) = 8 (4-2x)

    21-7x=32-16x

    add 16x to both sides

    21+9x=32

    minus 21 from both sides

    9x=11

    divide both sides by 9

    x=11/9
