For her birthday Kendra received a gift card in the mail from her grandparents. The gift card was worth $50. Kendra thought since she had just received other gifts for her birthday she would wait a while to spend the gift card. Unfortunately Kendra forgot all about the card and the card loses $5 every month after its date of purchase if it has not been used.

If Kendra forgot the card for three months she lost how much money?

    First, you should create an equation, the variables I am using is T=month and M=Money left

    50-5T=M

    just plug in the amount of months for T and calculate to get M.

    Ex. 50-5 (3) = M

    50-15=M

    35=M

    you should be able to do the rest, it's that easy.
