You purchased 8 pound 10 ounces of candy from a candy shop you want to split it equally amoung 3 classrooms at a local school how much should each classroom recive

    Well I would start with converting the pounds to ounces

    8 pounds is equal to 128 ounces, plus the other 10 ounces, that would be 138 ounces of candy.

    Then you would divide that by three so that each class has an even amount.

    138/3=46

    Each class should get 46 ounces (2.875 pounds) of candy
