Triangle has sides of lengths 12, 14, and 19. is it a right triangle? explain. yes; no; no; yes;

    Use the Pythagorean theorem to see if it is a right triangle.

    The hypotenuse is the longer sides so suing 12 and 14 as the 2 sides.

    If it is a right triangle we would have:

    12^2 + 14^2 = 19^2

    144 + 196 = 340

    19^2 = 361

    Since 340 does not equal 361 it is not a right triangle.
