    N/2 - 7 = - 6

    add 7 to both sides;

    n/2 - 7+7 = - 6+7

    n/2 = 1

    multiply both sides by 2 (or divide by 1/2) in order to get n by itself.

    n/2 * 2/1 = 1 * 2/1

    n = 2
