Assume that y varies directly with x, then solve

If y = - 6.6 when x=9.9, find y when x=6.6

    To find the answer, first find y if x is 1. So, divide 9.9 by itself and - 6.6 by 9.9. Then you get y=-0.666 ... when x=1. Then multiplty both by 6.6. You will get y=-4.4 when x=6.6.
