    a: f (x) + g (x) = 3x+5 - 8x-10 = - 5x-5 = - 5 (x+1)

    b: f (x) - g (x) = 3x+5 + 8x+10 = 11x + 15

    c: f (x) x g (x) = (3x+5) (-8x-10) = - 24x^ (2) - 30x - 40x - 50 = - 24x^ (2) - 70x - 50

    d. f (x) / g (x) = - 3/8 + 5 / (4 (-8x-10)

    (3x+5) / (-8x-10):

    numerator: 3x+5

    denominator: (-8x-10)

    quotient: - 3/8

    remainder:5/4

    e. Determine which of the above are polynomials.

    f (x) / g (x)
