IF I travel (4+x) miles per hour for 2 hour and I travel the same distance at (4-x) miles per hour in 3 hours, what is x?

    So this is saying that the two distances travelled are the same.

    Now ... Distance = Speed * Time

    Thus (4+x) * 2 = (4-x) * 3

    So 8+2x=12-3x

    Thus, 5x=4

    so x=0.8
