Ok with your new values i can solve this questions for you.

the hard drive was 24.32% full when the transfer began.

    4.4 x 32 = 140.8

    384 - 140.8 = 243.2

    243.2 divided by 1000 = 0.2432

move the decimal 2 places to the right to create a percentage and you now have your answer of 24.32%
