You went to the mall with $80. You spend 25% of the money on shorts and 65% of the remainder on sandals. How much did the sandals cost?

    25% of 80

    25/100 or 1/4 x 80 = 20

    So $20 were spent on shorts, then $60 were left over.

    65% of 60 on sandals.

    so 65/100 x 60 = 39

    So we can see that the sandals cost $39.
