Solve for a.
y=2x/a+2b
Multiply both sides by a.
ay=2ab+2x
Add - 2ab to both sides.
ay+-2ab=2ab+2x+-2ab
-2ab+ay=2x
Factor out variable a.
a (-2b+y) = 2x
Divide both sides by - 2b+y.
a (-2b+y) / - 2b+y = 2x / - 2b+y
a = 2x / - 2b+y
