What do the sides measure if a rectangle if the area = 36" and the perimeter = 40"

    36 = 6*6 or 4*9 or 2*18 or 1*36

    6*6 does not work because 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 24

    4*9 does not work because 4 + 4 + 9 + 9 = 26

    2*18 works because 2 + 2 + 18 + 18 = 40

    No need to check other option

    Therefore sides of rectangle is 2" and 18"
