How would you properly measure the mass of liquid

With a certain scale

First determine the mass of the container you are putting the liquid in, next put the liquid in and measure the container with the liquid, finally subtract the mass of the container from the container with the liquid

Ex. 1) Container - 5 2) container with liquid-8 3) 8-5=3 Final, the mass of the liquid is 3 grams
