9/10 prefer maths over lunch, so technically most of the students prefer maths so we should expect a value close to 200 students.

All you have to do is multiply 200 students by 9 and divide it by 10:

    200 x 9/10 = 180 students

So if 200 students were asked, 20 would answer that they prefer lunch over maths because 200 - 180 = 20 (number of students who don't prefer maths)

    20

    Step-by-step explanation:

    9/10 prefer math

    1 - 9/10 = 1/10 don't prefer math

    1/10 of 200

    1/10 * 200

    = 20
