    Equation of 2x-y = 5 where we know the y value from (x, 1)

    We substitute the y value in the equation to get the x value easily

    2x-1 = 5

    2x = 5 + 1

    2x = 6

    x = 3 (divide both side by 2)

    Answer x = 3 when y = 1
