First you need to figure out how much money you would save with a 15% discount. You find this out by multiplying the total amount by 15% or 0.15.

    475 x 0.15 = $71.25

The other option is just a flat rebate for $75. $75 is greater than $71.25 by $3.75, so the rebate is the better deal.

    $75 - $71.25 = $3.75
