    Gruop x terms

    (x²-8x) + 3=0

take 1/2 of linear coefient and square it

    -8/2=-4, (-4) ^2=16

    add negative and positive inside

    (x²-8x+16-16) + 3=0

    factor perfect square

    ((x-4) ²-16) + 3=0

    expand

    (x-4) ²-16+3=0

    (x-4) ²-13=0

    add 13 both sides

    (x-4) ²=13

    answer is C
