Two numbers have a sum of 24. if one number is P, express the other number in terms of P

    Say the other number is a. The sum is a+P, which also equals 24.

    Write it as, a+P=24.

    Now subtract P from both sides.

    you get, a = 24-P

    So, the other number in terms of P is 24 - P
