    X*y = 5000

    2x + 2y = 300

    x=5000/y

    2 (5000/y) + 2y=300

    10000/y+2y=300

    10000+2y^2=300y

    2y^2-300y+10000=0

    2 (y^2-150+5000) = 0

    2 (y-500) (y-100) = 0

    y=50

    y=100

    no plug y into the other equation and get:

    x=50

    y=100

    One side is 50 and the other is 100.
