One number is 7 less than a second number. Twice the second number is 7 less than 5 times the first. Find the smaller of two numbers.

    N = x-7

    2x = 5n-7

    2x = 5 (x-7) - 7

    2x=5x-35-7

    -3x=-42

    x=14

    n=7

    7 is the answer
