I love 50 fish Allen caught from the lake 14 were trout. The estimate population of the lake is 600. About how many trout would you expect to be in the lake?

    14/50=x/600

    50x=8400

    x=168

    168 trout

    1. set up a proportion of 50 fish how many were trout to how many were trout out of 600. Then cross multiply. Finally, divide 8400 by 50 to get x as the amount of trout.
