    {4x+2y=18

    {2x+3y=15 - divide both sides by - 2

    -2x-y=-9

    2x+3y=15

    -sum the equations vertically to

    eliminate at least one variable

    2y=6 divide both sides of the equation

    by 2

    y=3

    -substitute the given value of y into the simplest equation

    2x+3*3=15

    -solve for x

    x=3

    -the solution of the system is the ordered pair (x, y)

    (x, y) = (3,3)

    Check √

    -check if the given ordered pair is a solution of the system of equations

    {4*3+2*3=18

    {2*3+3*3=15

    simplify the inequalities

    {18=18

    {15=15

    -since all of the equalities are true the ordered pair is the solution of the system
