From the information we have, 45 pounds is only 75 % of the total cost.
The total cost will be at 100%.
we first write out 75 % in its equivalent form:
75% is the same as 75/100
75/100 = 0.75
And 100% is the same as 100/100
100/100 = 1
Now we form an equation:
0.75 = 45
1 = x
where x is the total cost, that is 100% price.
we cross multiply the equation to get:
0.75 * x = 45 * 1
0.75x = 45
x = 45/0.75
x = 60
The full cost is 60 pounds.
