Having looked over your post, I think you meant:
"Find the sum of 10 1/2 and 12 1/2." or, "Find the sum of 10.5 and 12.5.
Answer: 10 1/2 = 12 1/2 = 22 + 2/2 = 22 + 1 = 23. So no, the sum is not 35.
