Whenever multiplying a - negative number and - a negative number = + positive number

    -12x+8=6x+2

Move + 6x to the other side. Sign changes from + 6x to - 6x

    -12x-6x+8 = 6x-6x+2

    -18x+8 = 2

Move 8 to the other side. Sign changes from + 8 to - 8

    -18x+8-8 = 2-8

    -18x = - 6

    Divide by - 18 for - 18x and - 6

    -18/18x = - 6/-18
