IRA requires that employees who are going to claim their retirement benefits should be at least 59 1/2 years old. If the employee claims or withdraws his savings from IRA before such retirement age he will be given a 10% penalty from the amount of money that he will withdraw. Bert must wait for at least 14 years in order for him to make sure that such penalty will not be given to him.
