For every 3 children that purchased a 2016 year book there were 5 that did not. If there are 872 students how many would be expected not to have purchased a yearbook?

    3 + 5 = 8

    5 of 8 children did not purchase the year book

    Multiply the fraction 5/8 (or decimal 0.625) by 872 And you will get 545

    545 students are expected not to have purchased a year book
