For the parent function y=√x what effect does a value of b = 5 have on the graph?

    In standard linear form, y = mx = b, b is the y-intercept, which is where the line crosses over the y axis. So, a value of b = 5 would raise the y-intercept to 5. And incase you didn't know m is the slop.
