4x = y - 1 ⇒ 4x + y = - 1 ⇒ 12x + 3y = - 3
6x - 2y = - 3 ⇒ 6x - 2y = - 3 ⇒ 12x - 4y = - 6
7y = 3
7 7
y = 3/7
12x + 3 (3/7) = - 3
12x + 1 3/7 = - 3
-1 2/7 - 1 2/7
12x = - 4 2/7
12 12
x = - 5/14
(x, y) = (-5/14, 3/7)
