    L=length of commercials, p=program on television

    p=3l+7

    p=30

    Substitute 30 for p in first equation

    30=3l+7

    23=3l, l=7 and 2/3

    length of commercials: 7 minutes and 40 minutes.

    Well if we let c represent the number of minutes the commercials ran, then 3c+7 = 30 right?
