Don't let the fraction confuse you.
3y + 2/4 = 7
You could multiply each side by 4 to get rid of the fraction:
12y + 2 = 28
Subtract 2 from each side:
12y = 26
Divide each side by 12:
y = 26/12 or 13/6 or 2 and 1/6

Actually u want to find the value of 'y' step1:rearranging 3y=7-2/4 step2:take LCM and subract 3y=26/4 step3:simplify 3y=13/2 y=13/6
