This week Leo worked (x + 6) hours at a pizzeria. He is paid (x - 6) dollars per hour. Leo's friend Frankie earned worked the same number of hours, but he is paid (x - 5) dollars per hour.     I'm not sure if this is what you mean by expression:

    (x+6) + (x-6) = (x+6) + (x-5)

    (12+6) + (12+6) = (12+6) + (12-5)

    18 + 18 = 18 + 7

    36 = 25

    Leo = $36

    Frankie = $25
