    The total cost of a sandwich, a glass of milk, and an apple is $2.35 What was the price of each, if the sandwich cost twice as much as the milk and the apple cost 90 cents less than the sandwich?

    s=cost of the sandwich.

    m=s/2

    a=s-.9

    s + s/2 + s-.9 = 2.35

    2s+s+2s-1.8=4.7 Multiply each side by 2.

    5s-1.8=4.7

    5s=6.5

    s=$1.30

    m=$.65

    a=$.40
