A bike loop is 8 miles long. is ride around the loop 18 times. he used compensation to find out how far he rode. first he multiplied 20x8 = 160. what should i do next?

    You have calculated 8*20=160 miles

    but you covered only 18 laps

    so subtract 2*8=16 miles

    Hence total distance covered=160-16=144 miles
