Patrick bought a pair of jeans which originally cost $88 at a 25% discount. How much was marked off the original price?

    The answer is $22. 25% of 88 = 0.25*88 = $22 $88-$22 = $66. The new discounted price would be $66 in case you were wondering. But $22 got marked off the original price of the jeans.
