Four apples and one banana cost £1.40 Seven apples and one banana cost £2.00 Work out the cost of an apple and the cost of a banana

    Apple: £20

    Banana: £60

    I believe this is the answer because between the two problems there is a difference of £60. So I saw three apples were gone from the next so 60 divided by 3 is 20. Then we need to find the banana price. 20 x 7 = 140. 200 - 140 is 60. So the banana is 60 and the apples are 20.
