    2x > 4x - 6 [two x is greater than (>) four x minus six]

You need to isolate/get "x" by itself in the inequality:

    2x > 4x - 6 Subtract 4x on both sides

    2x - 4x > 4x - 4x - 6

    -2x > - 6 Divide - 2 on both sides to get "x" by itself

[two negative signs cancel each other out and become positive]

[when you divide/multiply a negative number to both sides of an inequality, you flip the sign () ]

    x < 3
