Can someone explain square

Roots? Because i honesty just don't get it.

Taking the square root of a number is finding the closest number that will go into that number evenly.

i. e. the square root of 64 is 8. 8*8 is 64

hopefully that makes sense and keep in mind not all number have an even square root
