    If you wrote the whole thing ... if 0.888 is all there is to it ... then it's a terminating decimal, and it's equal to the fraction (888/1000) or (111/125).

    If the 8's keep going forever and never end, then it's a repeating decimal, and it's equal to the fraction (8/9).
