We are asked for the number of six-digit odd numbers that can be formed. the left-most digit should not be zero because it make the number - five digit already. An odd number ends only in 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. Using counting, the 6th digit can only have 5 numbers, the 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd can have, 10 numbers. The first number can only have 9 numbers. Hence the total number is 450,000
