    g (x) = 3x + 12

    Let us first find f (2) and g (2).

    Substitute x = 2 in f (2) and g (2).

    f (2) = - 4 * 2 = - 8

    g (2) = (3 * 2) + 12 = 18

    Let us find (f + g) (2).

    (f + g) (2) means adding combination of two functions.

    (f + g) (2) = f (2) + g (2)

    = - 8 + 18

    = 10
