    To evaluate for the amount of sand that can fit in the sandcastle, we obtain the volume of the castle.

    V=πr²h

    From the information:

    r=6/2=3 inches

    h=8 inches

    thus the volume will be:

    V=π*3²*8

    V=72pi

    Hence the amount of sand required will be 72pi in³
