    Sin (x) = opposite over hypotenuse

    Cos (x) = adjacent over hypotenuse

    Tan (x) = opposite over adjacent

    Everything revolves around a right triangle.

    From the given equation, " sine of x equals square root of 2 over 2"

    Opposite = square root of 2

    Hypotenuse = 2

    Adjacent = ?

    Using the Pythagorean Equation: H^2 = O^2 + A^2

    2^2 = (square root of 2) ^2 + A^2

    A^2 = 4 - 2

    A = square root of 2

    Cos (x) = square root of 2 over 2

    Tan (x) = square root of 2 over square root of 2 = 1
