    Josh = x

    Kevin = x+6

    J + K = 22

    x + x + 6 = 22

    2x + 6 = 22

    2x + 6 - 6 = 22 - 6

    2x = 16

    2x : 2 = 16 : 2

    x = 8

    x + 6 = ?

    8 + 6 = 14

    So, Josh has 8 bars and Kevin has 14 bars

    Step-by-step explanation:

    We have simultaneous equations.

    Let's say Kevin has y twix bars.

    (1) y = x + 6

    (2) x + y = 22

    Substitute (1) for y in (2) gives us:

    x + (x + 6) = 22

    2x + 6 = 22

    2x = 16

    x = 8

    Substitute this value for x in (1) gives:

    y = 8 + 6 = 14

    So Josh has 8 bars and Kevin has 14 bars.
