So first we add like terms inside the partenahseese
8-6x+12=-6x+8+12=-6x+20
now we have
1/4 (-6x+20)
distribute
a (b+c) = ab+ac
1/4 (-6x+20) = - 6/4x+20/4=
-3/2x+5
-1 and 1/2x+5
