Probability of drawing a purple pen is 50% or 0.5

Probability of drawing a black pen is 0

    Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly, we know that there are three different types of colored pens, these are blue, green and purple

We should know that the total probability associated with an event is 1 or let's say 100%

Now the probability of drawing a purple pen will be equal to 100% - probability of drawing blue pen - probability of drawing green pen

    That will be 100% - 10% - 40% = 100% - 50% = 50 % or more simply 50/100 = 1/2

Part B asks that what is the probability of drawing a black pen

The probability of drawing a black pen is zero

This is because we have no black pen in the book bag
