Two storage sheds are to have the same area. one is square and one is rectangular. The rectangular shed is 4meters wide and 9meters long. How large is one side of the square shed in meters?

    Let the length of the square shed be x, then

    area os square shed = area of rectangular shed

    x^2 = 4 (9) = 36

    x = sqrt (36) = 6.

    Therefore, the length of the square shed is 6 meters.
