Carmen's city took a telephone poll about a plan to build a new hotel downtown. 6,000 people took the poll. 25% of them were in favor of the new hotel. How many people were in favor of the new hotel?

    People were in favor of the new hotel=25% of 6000 people.

    25% of 6000 people = (25/100) * 6000 = (25*6000) / 100=1500 pople.

    1500 people were in favor of the new hotel.
